Including Code in Wordpress Posts

I’m less than enamored with Wordpress’ ability, or stark lack thereof, to include code in posts. I tried a bunch of the plugins suggested by this article, but nothing really worked correctly. I lost patience before coming up with an adequate solution. Hence the previous post’s lack of the code example that was clearly merited. Bah.
I’m going to have to figure something out on this front. I am probably going to want a considerable percentage of my blog posts to be about code, which makes Wordpress’ deficiencies in this area sorta problematic for me.
[Update: Turning off the rich text editor in my user profile and installing this code markup plugin seems to have solved my problem.]
